Senior Relationship Manager (Harford County)
Description:
United Way of Central Maryland (UWCM) has a mission to improve people's lives by mobilizing the caring power of our communities. Not only do we help people in crisis, we go much deeper. We take aim at the root causes of the toughest problems our community faces. We are specifically looking for a dedicated, motivated individual to help us in the important fundraising efforts we conduct in the corporate community. By joining our relationship management team you will help enhance one of the largest charitable campaigns in the area by building strong relationships with company coordinators and prospective donors. Your fundraising role will entail being an ambassador and advocate which includes relationship building and volunteer recruitment/development. You will manage workplace campaigns and develop and implement campaign strategies using consultative selling to produce successful outcomes. Your role will also involve providing world-class customer service to our campaign coordinators and assist in recruiting and managing high-level executive volunteers to serve on various committees. You will be actively involved in strengthening and improving our fundraising efforts by adding your excellent ideas and suggestions in support of your internal team and your external customers. This is a challenging role and you will know that thousands of your neighbors are counting on you and that your success translates back to improving the quality of life in our community.
Requirements:
Bachelors degree with a minimum of 4 years related experience with emphasis on demonstrated performance in fundraising and volunteer management as responsibilities will include managing a partnership board. Must be able to work independently, possess excellent interpersonal skills, presentation and speaking skills. Must be able to handle multiple priorities, problem solve and maintain a professional demeanor at all times. Must be computer literate in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook and possess a valid Maryland driver's license. Successful candidate will be physically located in our Harford County office and be responsible for Harford and portions of Baltimore Counties. Candidate will be required to attend occasional monthly meetings and report in to manager located in our main Charles Street office.

Volunteer Coordinator (22 hours per week)
Description:
United Way of Central Maryland (UWCM) is dedicated to advancing change in every corner of our region. Our goal is to mobilize this community so that every member of society plays a role in advancing the common good in central Maryland. We're here to help bridge the gaps. UWCM is only as strong as the people who support us and part of the reason for our success each year is the number of dedicated staff and volunteers who help us. We are currently looking for a volunteer coordinator to provide a mechanism for individuals, families, teams and corporate groups to join together and engage in meaningful volunteer opportunities within central Maryland. The coordinator will recruit and refer volunteers, recognize and promote voluntarism and maintain data and records for a volunteer services program that responds to the needs of UWCM and local partner non-profit agencies.
Responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:
- Work with internal and external constituents to build, strengthen and promote individual and group volunteer efforts, partnerships and networks to include planning and providing technical assistance and memoranda of understanding
- Work cross functionally with staff to support effective management and retention of volunteers and conduct special volunteer involvement activities and special events
- Maintain a local and state presence as an advocate of voluntarism and represent UWCM on volunteer related organizations and activities
- Drafts proposals, policies and procedures as needed to meet organizational objectives

Requirements:
Bachelor's degree, experience in volunteer and project management, public speaking and working with people of all ages. Ability to work independently to bring a project to completion and skills in facilitating partnerships, developing collaborative projects, prioritizing and managing multiple tasks. Must be proficient in problem solving and able to think strategically. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications. Valid Maryland driver's license and working vehicle required.
