Volunteerism
Tocqueville Society members not only invest their treasure, but also their time and talent, in our communities. Volunteer opportunities range from sorting food for distribution to lobbying our legislators for easier access to childcare.

Signature Events
Each year, Tocqueville Society members enjoy two signature events: Toast to Tocqueville and In Their Own Words. Toast to Tocqueville celebrates the impact of members’ generosity while In Their Own Words features local leaders sharing their stories, often in an experiential setting. Our April 2024 event featured Chef Saion Brice, who shared his story of growing up in West Baltimore while members dined at his Harbor East restaurant BLK Swan.

Emerging Tocqueville Society members may serve on the Tocqueville Executive Council or numerous other councils and committees that facilitate United Way of Central Maryland’s work.
