POSITION SUMMARY STATEMENT:
United Way of Central Maryland is seeking an enthusiastic, creative, and dependable Marketing intern to support our team. You will support key digital and product initiatives and implement and deploy marketing content through our website, social media channels, and email to amplify our work. You will gain hands-on experience using digital tools and develop sales/promotional skills. There are also opportunities to write content, create digital assets, and assist in the management of marketing projects.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDES, BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
You want to do the work and see it impact the organization, not just learn about it. You’re available 10-15 hours over 2-3 days a week. This position may be fulfilled remotely, but preference is given to those in Central Maryland.
- Generate leads for United Way’s 30|30 Experience and other products and experiences by identifying prospective clients, sending emails, and following up with organizations
- Update databases and prepare concise and accurate reports to identify opportunities to expand
- Establish best practices for cultivating engagement pipelines for new partners
- Manage digital assets to improve workstream and maintain brand consistency
- Assist with basic webpage updates on uwcm.org
- Identify event and partnership opportunities in Central Maryland communities
- Assist in the writing, editing, and proofreading of marketing content, including blog posts, web pages, social media, and print materials
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- Experience with WordPress and willingness to learn
- Professional social media experience preferred
- Strong research and communication skills and attention to detail
- Able to take initiative without constant oversight and adapts well to changing environments
- Knowledge of Google Ads and Analytics is a bonus
This position can fulfill academic internship requirements or be a paid internship.
