Baltimore, MD (November, 2025) – United Way of Central Maryland has announced that Rodney Oddoye, Chief Operating Officer and Senior Vice President of Pepco Holdings, an Exelon Company, has been named Chair of the organization’s Board of Directors.
Oddoye, a longtime United Way of Central Maryland supporter and advocate, has served in various volunteer and leadership capacities prior to his appointment as Board Chair.

In October, Oddoye took the stage during United Way’s Centennial Benefit Concert, helping to mark 100 years of impact across the region and inspiring the community, partners and volunteers to unite to create a stronger future.
As Board Chair, Oddoye will help guide United Way of Central Maryland into its next century of service – building upon the organization’s century-long mission to strengthen lives and neighborhoods by mobilizing the caring power of the community. His tenure as Board Chair will also see the roll out of a new strategic plan for the organization.
“Rodney brings a deep understanding of what it takes to build strong, connected communities,” said Franklyn Baker, President and CEO of United Way of Central Maryland. “His leadership, commitment to service, and perspective as both a business and civic leader will help us continue accelerating bold, strategic solutions to fuel healthy, resilient communities; financial security, and youth opportunity for people across our region.”
With more than two decades of experience in the utility industry at Exelon, Oddoye leads operations for Pepco Holdings, the parent company of Atlantic City Electric, Delmarva Power, and Pepco. Beyond his professional role, Oddoye is deeply engaged in civic initiatives, serving on the boards of CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield and Building Bridges Across the River, as well as participation in Connected DMV’s Regional Congress and the Recreation Wish List Committee of the Southeast Tennis and Learning Center.
“I am honored to support United Way of Central Maryland at such a pivotal time,” said Oddoye. “For 100 years, this organization has been a trusted partner and lifeline for families throughout our region. As we look ahead to the next century, let’s all unite to create a stronger future, break down barriers, invest in our neighbors, and support each other.”
Oddoye will be joined by a slate of new United Way of Central Maryland board officers.
