Building Healthier Communities Together
At the heart of every thriving community is a commitment to wellness – a pledge to nurture not just the body, but hearts and minds as well. We provide and support programs that prioritize physical and social-emotional well-being so that every person can be their best version of themselves.
People in too many neighborhoods across Greater Baltimore struggle with hunger and access to healthy food options, and mental health challenges are on the rise
Locally, approximately 175,000 people in Baltimore City are living with a mental health condition (source: National Alliance on Mental Illness Metropolitan Baltimore). Mental health is a complex issue, which can have its roots in trauma, and tear at the very fabric of families and our community, impacting education, child development, housing, and public safety.
To help make our neighbors and neighborhoods stronger, more resilient, and healthier, we focus on:
Food Resilience
Strengthening regional food systems to improve food access across Central Maryland, addressing food insecurity in historically marginalized communities, and providing food directly to people in need.
Social-Emotional Well-Being
Trauma education and training for community members, volunteers, and supporters to help our neighbors in need.
Emergency Response
Leveraging our partners, local leaders, and data resources to quickly and efficiently mobilize resources in response to local emergencies.
